Mona Tierney-Lloyd, Head, U.S. State Policy & Institutional Affairs, Enel North America

Mona has been involved in energy policy development for over 25 years in the United States, with an emphasis on Western States, including Texas.  She began her work as a Petroleum Engineer, working for an oil and gas exploration company in Western PA.  She has worked for a natural gas distribution company in NJ and an electric and gas distribution company in Southern California.  Since that time, she has been an advocate working on gas and electricity industry restructuring and retail access.  For the last 11 years, she worked for EnerNOC, demand response, working with regulatory commissions, legislatures and organized markets, to create opportunities for demand-side resources.  Now, with Enel North America, she is responsible for creating or protecting utility-scale renewable development, hybrid projects that include energy storage, and customer-sited resources that could include demand response, energy storage, solar, and electric vehicle charging.

Mona is Chair of the Board of the California Energy Storage Alliance, is a Board Member for the Center for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Technologies, Member of Leadership Council for the Energy Storage Association, former Chair of the Demand-Side Working Group in ERCOT, former co-chair of the Energy Committee, Silicon Valley Leadership Group.  She has a B. S. in Petroleum Engineering, Penn State.
