With a background in science, Peter began his career in the building instruments for the oil services industry. He then spent 15 years working in basic and applied research at NASA. While at NASA, worked for 5 years studying atmospheric science. That experience kindled a desire make difference in climate change. In 2006 he became the founding CEO of a Building Energy Management software company. He joined Trane in December 2012 via the acquisition of Serious Energy. He is a passionate evangelist for driving energy efficiency in commercial buildings and a strong believer that Trane’s combination of great technology and deep building systems knowledge will achieve the greatest results Peter is a graduate of Colorado College with a Bachelor of Science degree in physics Peter currently resides in Portland, OR where he is an avid cyclist, fly fisherman and generally spends as much time outdoors as possible with family and friends.
Laura Jelin, LEED AP BD+C, O+M
Intelligent Services Team Leader, California District
Laura Jelin is the Intelligent Services Team Leader for Trane’s California District. She specializes in designing Intelligent Services solutions to meet customer requirements and budgets. Laura has over 29 years’ experience in the construction industry. Her accomplishments include driving 100% revenue services growth in 2018 for the California market, creating and teaching curriculum in Trane’s Controls Graduate Training Program and working with our change management team for Linkage process improvement.
Laura received a BA from CSUSB in 1994, became Master Certified in HVAC controls in 2010 and achieved LEED AP BD+C, O&M from USGBC in 2012.
Laura is committed to community service including 3 years volunteering with local ASHRAE chapters and 2 years as a mentor for Big Brother Big Sister.
Laura is the proud parent of a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp and currently resides in Orange County, California.
